The smell of beer attracts snails. This is explained by the fact that the snails react to the smell of yeast, which is also caused by rotting fruit. If you need to get rid of these vermin in your garden, you have to pour a little beer in a shallow container and place it in the garden; then simply collect and dispose of the snails.
